A familiar song from the hedge. A call you've never heard before. Chirps helps you put a name to the birds around you — and build a collection of the ones you've found.

Identify. Catch. Collect.

Open Chirps and start listening. Birds are identified by their calls, right on your phone. Wait for a strong identification, then capture a Chirp to keep it in your collection.

Each capture earns XP, with bonuses for gold-tier identifications and rarer species. Keep track of every species you've heard and caught, and revisit your finds on the map.

A little friendly competition

Follow your friends, share your finds and compare your collections on the leaderboards. The social side is optional: you can identify birds and build your collection without an account.

Built for being outdoors

Bird identification works offline. Audio is processed on your device, so you can keep listening when the signal disappears. Our privacy policy explains storage, sharing and optional backup.
